Nate Maus doesn’t just handle cases — he immerses himself in them. With more than a decade of litigation experience, he treats every client as an individual, rejecting one-size-fits-all strategies in favor of creative, strategic advocacy. His approach is straightforward: prepare like every case is going to trial and fight relentlessly for the best possible outcome, whether that’s a settlement or a verdict.
“His presence in a trial is unmatched,” says TSR Litigation Paralegal Selena Adams, who has worked alongside Nate in court. “He connects with juries in a way that’s rare. He speaks to them as equals and makes sure they fully grasp the case and their responsibilities.”
That approach has served Nate and his clients well as he is an incredibly successful trial attorney.
Nate’s success is rooted in preparation, instinct, and an unwavering commitment to his clients. Nate approaches every case with complete dedication, treating it as more than just a legal matter. He absorbs every detail, every key date, every medical record. This depth of understanding allows him to anticipate challenges, dismantle opposing arguments, and present cases in a way that resonates deeply with juries.
Collaboration is another cornerstone of his practice. He constantly seeks input from colleagues and staff, valuing fresh perspectives that can help him refine his strategy. Even in casual moments — like conversations at his kids’ hockey games — he finds inspiration for new ways to frame arguments or simplify complex issues. “I might know the case better than anybody, but that doesn’t mean I know how to win it better than anybody,” he says. “The best insights can come from anywhere.”
One case in particular highlights Nate’s ability to push beyond conventional legal tactics. Representing a woman with catastrophic injuries, Nate and Rich Ruohonen refused to accept the defense’s narrative. They enlisted a NASA-trained rocket scientist, constructed a 3D accident reconstruction, and dismantled the defense’s only witness — securing a life-changing settlement. “They thought they had an airtight case,” Nate recalls. “We proved otherwise.”
His tenacity extends beyond the courtroom. Nate never settles for less than what his clients deserve, often taking cases to trial when insurers refuse to offer fair compensation.
“Clients always ask, ‘What is my case worth?’” he says. “But the real question is, ‘What do you need to move forward?’ If the answer isn’t enough, we keep fighting.”
Outside of work, Nate is a dedicated father and coach, spending his free time at the rink or on the field with his kids. “No one in the office is more involved, motivated, or dedicated to his family,” says Chuck Slane. “He coaches everything, attends every game, and still finds time to be an incredible lawyer.”
With sharp instincts, tireless preparation, and genuine empathy, Nate has built a reputation as a formidable litigator and an unwavering advocate. His clients aren’t just cases to him — they’re people who deserve a voice, and he fights to make sure they’re heard.
