Attorney Charles Slane

Chuck Slane isn’t interested in theatrics — he’s interested in results. With more than 25 years of experience, he’s built a reputation as an attorney who thinks three steps ahead and never leaves a detail unchecked. His colleagues describe him as one of the most prepared and analytical lawyers they’ve ever met. “Chuck isn’t afraid to take risks, but he always does his homework,” says TSR Litigation Paralegal Selena Adams. “He’s a bulldog when it comes to preparedness, and he genuinely cares about his clients.”

For Chuck, personal injury law isn’t just about legal arguments, it’s about people. He understands that for most clients, this is their one case, their one chance at justice. This is why he takes the time to explain every step of the process, answer their toughest questions, and make sure they feel confident in the fight ahead. “People want to know: How long will this take? Who’s going to pay for my medical bills? My job is to make sure they have real answers and real support,” he says.

“Chuck is modest, known as a man of few words, but he is empathetic. He goes above and beyond for his clients and creates personal connections. He is an admirable lawyer, a scholar, and extremely smart,” states Partner, Nate Maus.

His path to law wasn’t exactly planned. When a high school guidance counselor suggested he start as a paralegal, he took the advice without hesitation. This decision led him to an internship with a personal injury attorney, a mentor who encouraged him to go to law school. Decades later, Chuck now mentors young lawyers himself, training the next generation through the Minnesota Association for Justice’s Trial College. “Teaching others how to build strong cases and advocate for clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my career,” he says.

Chuck’s empathy for his clients is deeply personal. His wife, Traci, has spent years volunteering for the LGBTQ+ community, and her work has given him a firsthand look at the barriers and discrimination people face. “I’ve had the privilege of seeing the world through a different lens because of Traci,” he says. “It’s shaped how I approach my clients — with respect, with understanding, and with a commitment to fighting for what they deserve.”

Outside of work, you’ll find Chuck walking his dogs, supporting local restaurants, or traveling with Traci to cross bucket-list concerts off their list. He’s a lifelong music fan who recently made it to Red Rocks for a Led Zeppelin tribute show — an experience he describes as “worth the wait.”

Clients trust Chuck because he never takes the easy way out. He prepares for every possibility, fights for every advantage, and never loses sight of what matters most: the people who count on him to make things right.
